Frequently Asked Questions

Destination Weddings Travel + Accommodation Costs
You will have to cover Travel and Accommodation Costs for Destination Weddings, these costs will be different for every client and will be discussed and confirmed at our planning session.
Will there be a second shooter
With all my large Packages I usually have a second shooter, but with smaller intimate weddings, elopements and other sessions it will just be me & sometimes an assistant.
If our Wedding is cancelled, is our deposit refundable?
Unfortunately not. Upon signing the contract I hold your date exclusively for you and turn down any other commissions for that date, therefore the deposit is non-refundable. You will also have to pay a Cancellation Fee. That being said – If the cancellation is from my end, you will be refunded in full and I will make sure to assist you in finding another photographer you can trust!
When should we book?
ASAP! Some clients book up to a year before the wedding, others as close ad two months prior, but since I cannot “pencil you in” it is important to book me as soon as you have your date set.
How does payment work?
A non-refundable deposit of 60% of the quoted total is required to secure your booking date, the remaining amount is to be paid in full at least 2 days before the wedding/date of shoot.
Do you need to be fed at the reception?
Feeding me is not a contracted requirement but, if you do I will remain in a good mood and not faint from starvation. So I would highly appreciate it!
How long before we get to see our photos?
Your Reveal Session and Online Gallery will be scheduled approx. 8-10 weeks after the wedding date, this is also when your digital files will be delivered, prints can be ordered and you receive your album.
Do we get the RAW files?
No you do not, these are not available for viewing nor purchase. I choose my absolute best images from the batch and you receive, high quality, high resolution, beautifully enhanced photographs. Please rest assured that the outtakes truly are unusable images. And know that no photographer will ever supply the RAWs.
Do we get the copyright?
Unfortunately no, copyright only means that i am the creator of the images and they are my intellectual property, therefore I own the copyright. Copyright cannot be sold or obtained, but you can print and share your images as much as you’d like.
Do you have insurance?
I do have all my gear insured and always have backup gear just in case, however I cannot be held liable for any damage caused or loss of data due to natural events.
Do you offer payment plans?
During the COVID-19 Pandemic I do offer payment plans for my larger Packages only, which can be discussed during our Planning Session.
What if disaster strikes?
If something should happen to me and I cannot attend your wedding due to unforeseen circumstances, I promise you will be left with a more than competent replacement.
Can we extend the session on the day of?
Absolutely, you may extend your coverage at an additional cost of R2600/hour for each extended hour. But I do not charge for my weddings per hour and only book my available packages at minimum level of engagement, this means that you will end up paying much more than just booking a larger package from the get go.
How do you describe your style?
My style is very journalistic and unique, although I don’t believe photographs should be limited to ‘genre’. There is always a time and place for gorgeously posed photographs. I choose to capture the authentic moments between the moments that truly portray emotion. My editing style is warm and moody.
